Ever seen a liberator shotgun?

They were made in the 1960s by Winchester and designed to arm a very large number of people for a very low cost.

How low a cost?

Twenty bucks each in 1960s dollars.

Designed for guerilla warfare, they failed to find a following among recreational, sport shooting or law enforcement, and never made it into large scale production.
